Entrepreneur Awards — recognizing the founders, builders, and operators driving the Arabian region's entrepreneurial decade. From bootstrapped scale-ups to category-defining unicorns, we honor the people behind the businesses. Nominate for the 2026 Gala on 14 November at the Westin Marina Hotel, Dubai.
The Arabian region is in an entrepreneurial decade. Regional venture funding has matured beyond a small cluster of repeat players. Founders are scaling cross-border earlier. The diaspora is returning with international operating experience. Sovereign funds are co-investing alongside regional and international VCs. The Entrepreneur Awards exists to recognize the founders at the center of this build.
Entrepreneur recognition compounds over a founder's career in ways few other awards do. Founders who hold credible early recognition find subsequent fund-raising rounds, hiring decisions, and partner conversations measurably easier — the laurel travels with them across companies and continues to deliver value years later.
The 2026 Entrepreneur Awards program covers a carefully calibrated set of categories that reflect the realities of operating in this sector across the Arabian region. Nominations may be submitted in multiple categories simultaneously — many leading operators take more than one recognition in a single cycle.
Past entrepreneur honorees include first-generation immigrant founders, second-generation family-business operators taking the business through transformation, and serial founders building their third or fourth ventures. The common thread is substantive impact and demonstrated build capability — not narrative.
Winners use the laurel in tenders, marketing collateral, recruitment, investor presentations, and partner introductions. The third-party validation translates into measurable commercial outcomes — improved win rates on large contracts, premium pricing acceptance, and stronger conversations with both customers and capital.
Entrepreneur nominations are evaluated through a combination of personal trajectory analysis (build history, capital efficiency, team-building track record, exit history) and current-venture analysis (market position, traction, financial health, defensibility). The sub-jury is composed of former founders, VCs, family-office principals, and operators with founder experience.
Our process is intentionally rigorous so that recognition carries weight. Every submission is independently scored against five evaluation pillars — market impact, innovation, financial sustainability, operational excellence, and category-specific criteria — by a sub-jury composed of senior practitioners with direct frontline experience in this sector.
Eligibility is broad. Solo founders, co-founding teams, bootstrapped operators, venture-backed founders, sovereign-backed founders, family-business founders, and entrepreneurial leaders within larger groups are all welcome. We accept self-nominations, co-founder nominations, investor nominations, and customer nominations on equal terms.
The sub-jury draws from former founders with regional and international exits, VC partners active in the GCC, family-office founder advisors, sovereign-fund principals, and operators who built and scaled regional businesses to billion-dollar valuations.
Sub-jury composition is published before the 2026 cycle opens; jury independence is strictly enforced; sponsorship has zero influence on outcomes. We have refused sponsor-linked nominations more than once and will continue to do so.
Winners receive a hand-crafted luxury trophy, engraved plaque, gold medal, certificate of excellence, dedicated founder-feature in our annual press release, regional and international PR placement, social-media features through our channel network, and lifetime alumni access. Entrepreneur winners additionally receive inclusion in our annual GCC Founders Index distributed to the regional investor and family-office community.
Submissions take 10 to 15 minutes to complete on our centralized nomination form, hosted on the Golden Tree Awards platform. The form accepts self-nominations, peer nominations, and third-party nominations equally — many of our most celebrated honorees were nominated by a customer, partner, or industry observer rather than by themselves. There is no fee to submit. Fees apply only at later stages for shortlisted nominees who choose to advance, and they are clearly communicated in advance.
Supporting materials can be uploaded directly through the form or sent by email after submission. We recommend three to five carefully chosen documents — case studies, customer references, audited financial highlights where appropriate, and relevant press coverage — over fifteen lightly relevant ones. Strong nominations are specific, evidence-backed, and honest about what made the past 12 months distinctive.
If you have questions about category fit, eligibility windows, or how to position your nomination, contact the awards team at awards@goldentreeawards.com or message us on WhatsApp at +971 58 586 2014. We routinely help nominators refine their category choice before submission — well-matched nominations almost always perform better in the jury room than ambitiously misclassified ones.
Current and recent founders — solo founders, co-founding teams, bootstrapped operators, venture-backed founders, family-business founders, and entrepreneurial leaders within larger groups. The bar is build impact, not company stage.
Yes. Best Co-Founding Team is a dedicated category. Co-founding teams are also welcome to nominate individual co-founders separately if appropriate.
Female Entrepreneur of the Year is a dedicated category recognizing exceptional female-led ventures. Female founders also compete in the main categories on the same criteria as male peers.
It is one input but not the headline factor. Bootstrapped founders with strong revenue growth and team-building track records frequently outscore well-funded founders with thinner operational discipline.
Founders who have won within the past 3 years are ineligible for the same category, but may be recognized in adjacent categories — for example, an Entrepreneur of the Year honoree may later win Best Exit Story or Lifetime Entrepreneurial Achievement.
